Grand Prize of Up to 10,000 Yuan! Fuzhou Launches Slogan Collection for Its Bid for “City of Gastronomy”!
Fujian Dish Fotiaoqiang
Fuzhou cuisine has gained worldwide recognition, and its culinary culture has been passed down through the ages. As one of the eight major cuisines of China, Fujian cuisine originated in the province of Fujian, evolving through the fusion of ancient Minyue culture and Central Plains civilization. It reached its peak in Fuzhou, with Fuzhou dishes becoming the main representative of the cuisine. Renowned for its expertise in preparing both mountain and seafood delicacies, Fujian cuisine utilizes a variety of cooking techniques, including frying, quick-frying, deep-frying, braising, stewing, simmering, and blanching. It is celebrated for its harmonious balance of color, aroma, taste, appearance, and texture, offering a refreshing, delicate, and subtly elegant yet mellow flavor that sets it apart in the culinary world, earning global acclaim.
In recent years, the Fujian Cuisine Promotion Conference has been held in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Huaian, and Shunde.
In June 2022, Fuzhou launched its bid for the UNESCO Creative Cities Network – “Cities of Gastronomy.” This initiative aims to promote the global exchange of Fujian cuisine culture while creating new opportunities for the high-quality development of Fuzhou’s catering industry. In recent years, Fuzhou has earned prestigious titles such as “International (Fujian Cuisine) City of Gastronomy” and “China Fuzhou · Fujian Cuisine Landmark City.” Fuzhou’s catering industry has shown a positive trend of high-end, branded, and international growth, attracting recognition from three major prestigious restaurant guides: the “Black Pearl Restaurant Guide,” the “Michelin Guide,” and the “Golden Phoenix Tree China Restaurant Guide.”
To support Fuzhou’s bid for the title of “City of Gastronomy,” the city is now calling for slogan submissions from around the world. The “Adopted Slogan” will be awarded a prize of 10,000 yuan, while five “Shortlisted Slogans” will each receive a prize of 1,000 yuan. Further details are as follows.
