Canteen for the Elderly
Fuzhou has pioneered the “Canteen + Learning Center for the Elderly” model for elderly care services in China. In every community, at least one elderly canteen is established, providing meals for elderly residents while also introducing educational resources from local and provincial senior universities. During non-meal hours, both online and in-person classes are available, including regular Fujian cuisine workshops and culinary culture lectures. This initiative enables elderly residents to live at home, eat, learn, and enjoy life within their community, greatly enhancing their sense of happiness in the “City of Blessings.”
