Starting this October, the Fujian Cuisine Culture Museum will launch the “Fujian Cuisine Cooking Class.” Registration is now open! Fujian cuisine master Wei Yuanfei will teach the course himself. Over 8 days, you’ll learn both the basics and hands-on skills to make 10 classic Fujian dishes. I. Training Objectives: Led by renowned Fujian cuisine master Wei Yuanfei, this class blends cooking theory with hands-on training to help participants build a solid foundation in Fujian-style cooking. With practical sessions and guidance, students will learn how to prepare over 10 classic Fujian dishes on their own. The class follows a “theory + practice” model, with a strong focus on developing participants’ ability to apply knowledge, master cooking techniques, explore dish innovations, and enhance overall culinary competence.

II. Class Size: Each session will open with a minimum of 10 participants.

III. Time of Registration: Registration is now open and will close once all spots are filled. If you miss out, you’re welcome to join the waitlist and we’ll contact you if a spot becomes available.

IV. Who Can Join: This class is open to anyone who loves cooking, wants to improve their culinary skills, or is passionate about promoting the essence of Fujian culinary culture.

V. Training Schedule: The training consists of 8 half-day classes, held every Sunday morning from 9:30 to 12:00 PM. All classes are taught face-to-face and will combine lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice. A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the course.

VI. Training Format and Content: The training combines theoretical teaching with hands-on practice.

1. Theoretical teaching: The training is conducted based on the professional Fujian cuisine textbook Chinese Fujian Cuisine, providing students with a deep dive into dishes like Lychee Sweet and Sour Pork, Stir-Fried Kidney and Jellyfish, Deep-Fried Whole Yellow Croaker with Appetizing Sauce, and Crispy Fried Tenderloin. Each dish also offers insights into the local culture, landscapes, and traditions of Fujian. By exploring the main and auxiliary ingredients, seasonings, and cooking methods in detail, the class systematically teaches the techniques and artistry behind Fujian cuisine.

2. Hands-on Training: The practical sessions provide step-by-step guidance, with real-time corrections during the cooking process. Students will get hands-on experience in every aspect of Fujian cuisine, from sourcing ingredients and preparing cold dishes to mastering knife skills and techniques, seasoning, heat control, stir-frying, braising, deep-frying, stewing, plating, and garnishing. Each skill is thoroughly covered, ensuring plenty of chances for practice. A dedicated learning kitchen will be available for all participants, where they can engage in both cooking and tasting, fully immersing themselves in the art of Fujian cuisine.

VIII. Benefits:

IX. Refund Policy: If you need to cancel after successfully registering, a 20% cancellation fee will be deducted from the total registration fee, and the remaining fee will be refunded based on the unfinished class hours.
