Three Regions in Fuzhou Included in the New Batch of National-Level Project List
Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, along with the Ministry of Finance, released the central government’s list of agricultural industry integration projects for 2025. Ten projects from Fujian were selected, including two clusters of competitive industries with distinctive features, one modern agricultural park, and seven towns with agricultural strengths. Among them, Lianjiang and Luoyuan counties in Fuzhou, as part of Fujian’s large yellow croaker industry cluster project, were included in the national-level list of clusters of competitive industries with distinctive features. Additionally, Tazhuang Town in Minqing County was included in the national list of towns with agricultural strengths.
“Mintou No. 1” located in Dinghai Bay, Lianjiang.
As one of China’s leading coastal counties, Lianjiang boasts a 238-kilometer-long coastline and a marine area covering 3,112 square kilometers. Leveraging its natural advantage of “harvesting food from the sea,” the region produces more than 500 varieties of marine products.
Lianjiang’s Dinghai Bay and Tailu Town have established several deep-sea aquaculture platforms, including China’s first semi-submersible fishery-tourism integration platform, Mintou No. 1, creating “smart homes” for large yellow croakers. Among them, the intelligent ocean fisheries management platform functions like a “smart housekeeper,” collecting real-time ocean environment data such as water quality, temperature, salinity, and currents. It also enables precise feeding and automated cleaning through fish face recognition and underwater motion capture cameras. In Fujian’s first “customized marine fresh produce drone delivery” application, large yellow croakers have achieved “air transport”—by marine fresh produce drones, they can travel from the deep sea of Lianjiang to downtown Fuzhou in just 50 minutes.
Luoyuan County, located on the northeastern coast of Fujian Province, is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on the other, giving it abundant mountain and marine resources. The outer waters of Luoyuan Bay, situated to the east of the Pacific Ocean and north of the “Guanjingyang” large yellow croaker protection zone, boast excellent water quality, strong currents, and plenty of space. Within the net cages, the large yellow croakers continuously swim and “work out,” feeding on the small fish and shrimp in the sea. This results in firmer, more flavorful meat, with quality comparable to that of wild-caught yellow croakers, making them a market favorite.

Tazhuang Town in Minqing County, included in the national list of towns with agricultural strengths, is one of the province’s designated major agricultural production areas. Famous for its rice, rice noodles, and hot springs, Tazhuang has been successively recognized as a National Ecological Town, a National Rural Governance Demonstration Town, and a National Demonstration Park for the Integrated Development of Rural Industries. Chakou Village has been proudly recognized as a National “One Village, One Product” Demonstration Village and has also made it onto the 2022 national list of villages with rural industries generating over 100 million yuan in output value.
The production and processing of Chakou rice noodles have become a vital industry for local residents, driving income growth and economic prosperity. The town is home to over 130 rice noodle processing businesses and 67 rice noodle-related professional cooperatives. In 2024, the rice planting area in Tazhuang Town reached 11,992 mu, with 8,802 mu devoted to large-scale cultivation. The annual production of Chakou rice noodles reaches 38,000 tons, with the entire industry chain generating over 500 million yuan in value. The noodles are exported to markets in Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, the United States, and other countries.
According to reports, the first phase of Fuzhou’s agricultural industry integration project will receive a special subsidy of approximately 30 million yuan from the central government. These funds will support the development of the entire industry chain for key sectors, promoting both horizontal coordination and vertical integration across the upstream, midstream, and downstream stages. The focus will be on areas such as crop and livestock production, processing and distribution, branding and marketing, quality standards, technological services, and agricultural collaboration. The objective is to strengthen public infrastructure and elevate industry standards. (Fuzhou Evening News Reporters: Chen Muyi/Text; Yuan Hao and Lin Shuangwei/Photo)
