During the Huawei Rural Chefs and Rural Banquet Cultural Festival, merchants at the Huawei Xiyingli Agricultural Products Wholesale Market, offering fresh seafood, frozen goods, dried products, seasonings, meat, poultry, fruits, vegetables, and other categories, launched limited-time promotional sales at wholesale prices. At the same time, China UnionPay Fujian Branch launched special consumer benefits. During the event, customers who paid via UnionPay QR code at the Huawei Xiyingli Agricultural Products Wholesale Market could enjoy random discounts ranging from 1.8 to 38 yuan on purchases over 500 yuan.
At the “Huawei Fu Banquet” that day, dishes such as Fuqing’s Sour Bamboo Shoot and Clam Soup, Lianjiang’s Steamed Yellow Croaker with Scallion Oil, Minqing’s Braised Duck with Rice Noodles, and Mawei’s Sticky Rice with Crab… were among the sixteen representative rural banquet dishes from various counties (cities or districts) of Fuzhou, offering a true taste of Fujian’s rural banquet culture. The crowd included families who had driven from Changle to “reconnect with the flavors of home,” as well as young food enthusiasts eager to experience the “blend of traditional and modern culinary rituals.”
At the event, Huang Gongtai, Vice Chairman of the Famous Chefs Professional Committee, along with several industry experts and prominent rural chefs, co-founded the Fujian Rural Chefs Alliance. The alliance is dedicated to “integrating resources, pooling strengths, enhancing skills, and seeking common development,” aiming to transform Fujian’s rural banquet culture from “fragmented preservation” to “centralized growth” and establish a new platform for collaborative, mutually beneficial industry growth.
According to reports, the “Hock Chu Leu · Seafood Experience and Night Market Cuisine” project, located on the second floor of Building No. 1 at the Huawei Xiyingli Agricultural Products Wholesale Market, is set to open soon. The project introduces a unique seafood dining mode where customers can “choose their seafood downstairs, and have it prepared upstairs.” This allows customers to select from a variety of cooking styles, stalls, and chefs, fully accommodating their individual preferences. This innovative model represents a breakthrough in traditional agricultural market dining, utilizing the advantages of the supply chain in a mutually beneficial way to create a new, popular spot for distinctive seafood dining experiences.
