On June 28, the Gushan Huimin Food Plaza, a commercial complex located at the foot of Gushan Mountain, officially opened. Featuring iconic eateries like Beiling Huangniu Restaurant, the plaza aims to create a vibrant new cultural and tourism hub that blends shopping, leisure, and entertainment, while also serving as a regional commercial landmark as Gushan works toward becoming a 5A national scenic area.

Nestled in Guling Mountain (Kuliang), Huanxi Town, lies a hidden gem—Beiling Huangniu Restaurant. Using fresh, affordable local yellow cattle with skin, the savory beef broth is infused with fragrant herbs and the natural sweetness of radish, offering a nourishing and flavorful experience. The restaurant has earned a stellar reputation among visitors, with many food lovers driving over 10 kilometers just to enjoy its delicious dishes.

Now, visitors can enjoy authentic Huanxi cuisine without having to climb the mountain. After successful negotiations, this decade-old restaurant has opened its first branch at the foot of the mountain, attracting a large number of visitors on its opening day.

In addition to the Beiling Huangniu Restaurant branch, the underground food plaza offers a wide variety of Fuzhou delicacies, providing visitors with a true “Taste of Fuzhou.” The plaza features traditional dishes such as fish balls, pork wontons, taro paste, and Yongtai scallion cakes, all recognized as intangible cultural heritage. It also offers refreshing sweet tea brands, unique desserts, Fujian Southern heritage cuisine, boutique cultural and creative stores, convenience shops, and a range of leisure options.

According to the commercial street operator, Gushan’s tourism popularity has been growing steadily, attracting an average of 3 million visitors annually. However, the rising number of visitors has exposed a growing gap between demand and the insufficient dining facilities. Currently, Gushan is striving to become a 5A-level scenic area. The disorganized layout of outdoor markets has hindered the overall environment and image of the area. Building an underground commercial district will boost the scenic area’s capacity to serve visitors and enhance its overall service capacity, playing a key role in improving the overall infrastructure and image of the scenic area and strengthening food safety regulation.

Located at the foot of Gushan Mountain, the food plaza is seamlessly connected to Entrance A, Entrance B, and the underground parking lot. It is easily accessible from the main entrance, the A and B exits of Gushan Metro Station, and the underground parking lot. The underground parking facility offers 470 spaces, along with restrooms and resting areas, complementing the overall amenities of the scenic area. (Fuzhou Daily Reporter: Zhu Rong)
