2025 Dianping “Must-Eat List” Announced: 39 Restaurants from Fuzhou Make the List

On June 25, the 2025 Dianping “Must-Eat List” was released, featuring 3,091 restaurants from 144 cities and regions across China. Fuzhou had 39 restaurants on the list, covering local specialties, time-honored brands, and street-side eateries, all showcasing the rich flavors of Fujian cuisine.

This year, the “Must-Eat List” focuses on the theme of “More Authentic, Fresher, and Better at Capturing Local Flavors.” Nearly 80% of the businesses on the list are humble eateries, and more than 40% have been around for over a decade. The reporter noticed that among the Fuzhou restaurants featured are iconic names like A Xin Xian Lao and Mei Ya Bo Hua Sheng Tang, which preserve traditional techniques, alongside local favorites such as Lao Fu Zhou (Thirty Years of Fuzhou Flavors) and Yi Yun Jian Bao. These establishments stand out for their fresh ingredients, authentic preparation, and decades-long reputations, making them a “must-try” for food lovers across the country.

According to data from Dianping, the trend of “traveling for food” has seen a significant rise over the past year, with the share of out-of-town visitors steadily increasing. As the birthplace of Fujian cuisine, Fuzhou has become a popular destination for tourists eager to sample its signature dishes like Fotiaoqiang, fish balls, and pot edge paste. Notably, restaurants such as Zhu Zi Fang Ti Pang · Fuzhou Cuisine, Xingxian Restaurant · Fujian Seafood, and Tongli Pork Wontons have remained on the list for several consecutive years.

“We insist on evaluating and selecting restaurants based solely on user reviews, ensuring the entire process is free from any economic or commercial influence, highlighting truly well-regarded dining establishments,” said Li Shubin, Senior Vice President of Meituan. The “Must-Eat List” is built on 363 million authentic user reviews, with over 6 million businesses carefully vetted. During the credibility check, nearly 30% of businesses were removed due to insufficient data authenticity in their reviews. (Fuzhou Daily Reporter: Wu Huazhen)
