The Innovated and Upgraded Yidu Loquat Feast

Scallops in Loquat Cup

The Yidu Loquat Feast, a famous banquet from Fujian with the sweet and succulent loquat as its main ingredient, pioneers the use of loquats in fine cuisine. As part of the Yidu Brand Co-creation for the Common Prosperity Initiative, Yue Gang Qin Wan · Fuyan keenly captured the unique charm of Yidu loquats. Leveraging their profound expertise in both Fujian and Cantonese cuisines, along with masterful culinary techniques, they meticulously select local ingredients from Fuqing to reinvent and upgrade the loquat banquet. From the fruit’s flesh to its blossoms and leaves, every part of the loquat is artfully incorporated into the dishes, presenting a table of delicacies rich in color, aroma, and flavor.

The upgraded Yidu Loquat Banquet incorporates the refined aesthetics and diverse culinary techniques of Yue Gang Qin Wan · Fuyan, presenting a delectable array of dishes such as scallops in loquat cup, stewed partridge with Sichuan fritillary bulb and loquat, pork with loquat and lychee, loquat-shaped pastry, and stewed snow swallow with loquat and rock sugar. These dishes harmoniously blend sweet and savory flavors with layered textures, fully embodying the five essential elements of color, aroma, taste, presentation, and meaning, making it an ultimate feast for the taste bud.

Loquat-shaped Pastry

Among them, the loquat-shaped pastry is modeled after the loquat fruit, with a yellow, endearing, and chubby form. Its crisp, flaky crust encases a luscious filling of sweet loquat jam. With each bite, the rich flakiness blends seamlessly with the fruity sweetness, bringing a taste that is refreshing and not cloying, and making it irresistible to have more. The stewed partridge with Sichuan fritillary bulb and loquat is a perfect pairing of loquat and partridge meat. The natural sweetness of the loquat enhances the savory richness of the partridge, while the juicy fruit complements the tender texture of the meat, leaving a lingering, delightful aftertaste. The scallops in the loquat cup demonstrate great creativity: loquats are hollowed out and transformed into natural vessels, each filled with silky and tender scallops. The sweetness of the loquat melds with the umami of the seafood, delivering a feast for both the eyes and the palate, and adding a vibrant splash of color to the dining table.

“In the name of the loquat, we present the finest earthly flavors”, said Deng Guangji, executive chef of the Chinese cuisine division at Yue Gang Qin Wan. To cater to diverse tastes, Yue Gang Qin Wan · Fuyan has introduced two curated set menus priced at RMB 1,168 and RMB 1,988, each featuring a blend of classic and innovative dishes.

The successful launch of the Yidu Loquat Feast in the city represents not only a grand feast of delicacies but also a vivid example of rural revitalization and cultural inheritance. A responsible person from Yue Gang Qin Wan · Fuyan stated that by bringing Yidu loquats from the countryside to the urban dining table, local diners can savor the unique mountain and sea flavors of Fuqing while increasing the income of local fruit farmers and polishing the image of the “Yidu Loquat” brand.

According to the Bowl Banquet team leader of A Bite of Fuzhou from Fuzhou Evening News, the journey of the Yidu Loquat Feast “from the village to the city” demonstrates the market transformation of traditional agricultural products. Through the cultural brand of “Bowl Banquet”, the value of rural produce has been elevated “from branch to stove, from field to feast”, driving both the revitalization of Fujian cuisine and rural revitalization.

Kind Note: The Yidu Loquat Feast is available for a limited time until May 31. Reservations are highly recommended through the official channels of Yue Gang Qin Wan · Fuyan. Don’t miss this grand sweet and beautiful feast. (Fuzhou Evening News Reporter: Wang Guanghui, Text/Photo)
