Would you like to experience a traditional She ethnic village feast? Or explore a She ethnic market? Or perhaps enjoy a duet of She folk songs? This Sunday, the first “March 3” She Ethnic Cultural and Tourism Event will be held in Liujin She Ethnic Village, Dahu Town, Minhou County.
Guided by the United Front Work Department of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee and the Fuzhou Municipal Administration of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, this event is jointly organized by the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee of Minjiang University, the United Front Work Department of the CPC Minhou County Committee, the Minhou County Bureau of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Minhou County Tourism Development Center, and the Minhou County Federation of Trade Unions. Under the theme “Together as One; United in Our Love for China,” the event aims to invigorate the food and culture of the local She ethnic community while also expanding the reach of Minhou’s rich cultural and tourism resources of the Xuefeng mountain city, as well as its distinctive agricultural products, to broader markets.
As one of the highlights of the event, the Fuzhou Liujin She Ethnic Market will feature 15 stalls, offering an immersive experience of She ethnic culture. Focusing on the theme of “Green and Healthy,” the market will harmonize with the natural beauty of Xuefeng Mountain and its surroundings. It will present a variety of She ethnic intangible cultural heritage foods, as well as showcase agricultural and specialty products from Dahu Town. Visitors will have the chance to savor traditional dishes like She village wumifan (a type of purple-glutinous rice) and zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), while also being able to purchase local specialties, including highland vegetables, dried mustard greens, and green & red wine from Dahu.
The Fuyan·Dahu She Ethnic Feast (Rural Banquet) will offer 30 tables of She ethnic-style banquet sets, showcasing a variety of delicious dishes such as She village stewed tofu, pot-roasted eight delicacies, braised pork trotters, sliced poached chicken, seafood braised with She rice noodles, and She village wumifan, among other mouthwatering specialties. As visitors savor the delicious dishes, they will also experience the warm hospitality of the She people and the unique charm of the local culture. The Fucha·She Village Fucha tasting session offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the region’s natural gifts, savoring the rich and lingering aftertaste of the tea.
On the day of the event, the local She Ethnic Cultural Center will open its doors to the public, providing a full display of the She people’s traditions and wisdom. Visitors will have the chance to delve into the profound cultural heritage of the She ethnic group and their herbal medicine, thus promoting the preservation and development of the She ethnic culture.
In addition, the Fuyou·She Village Self-Driving Tour will officially kick off, with the route covering Liujin She Ethnic Village - Liujin Wenxi - Xuefeng Temple - Luohantai. The organizers aim to attract a broad range of tourists by offering a guided self-driving experience that blends popular activities like “camping self-driving tour” and “Citywalk.” This initiative is designed to foster a vibrant and interactive atmosphere, combining “experiencing + socializing,” allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a carefree lifestyle while discovering the charm of the region.
